The Open Day- Get involved with YCPN

On Saturday 3rd March, me along with a group of young volunteers spent the day advertising the Young Co producers network (YCPN) hoping to get some interest from more young enthusiastic people.

During the course of the morning we had a couple of people sign up yet didn’t get as much interest as we would have liked- so, you reading this, get involved!

If you are keen to make a change, have fresh, unique ideas and can spare a few hours each week then come and join us!

Our aim is to change the way young people see the Derby Museum and art gallery. We want to make it more interesting and engaging for the younger generations.

It’s exciting to be around creative like minded people who are willing to make a change. Our initial session on Wednesday 28th Feb consisted of us bouncing ideas about, discussing new innovative ways we can adapt and improve the space- things like evening events, workshops, artist talks, DJ sets, interactive aspects of the gallery, etc.

Literally anything is possible!

For me this is an amazing opportunity to work with professional, creative people where I can gain experience and skills for future work both with my degree and outside of it.

Become a trailblazer, join us next week @ Derby museum and art gallery, Saturday 17th March.
